The first direct restoration done by Raffles, IE started cutting down parts of treesand get rid of the Bush that covered the hulking building. Due to the discoverythat, Raffles awarded as the person who started the restoration of Borobudur Temple and got the attention of the world. In 1835, the entire Temple was successfully excavated. The temple continued to be restored during thecolonization of the Netherlands and continued after Indonesia became independent by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia with the help of UNESCO. The whole process of restoration completed in 1984

Building the Temple of Borobudur is 123 x 123 m high building with 34.5 m and has 1460 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues, as well as 72 stupas. The templehas 10 levels (symbolizing the ten Bodhisattva levels that must be traversed to reach the perfection of the Buddha). 10 level consists of 6 levels of square shape,round, circular-shaped, level 3, and a main stupa as its peak.

Kamadhatu



The first zone is a world phenomenon, or Kamadhatu world inhabited by most people, which can also be defined with the world that is still ruled by the kama or "low passions". The lowest level of the temple is covered by the Foundation ofthe building, so it is not visible. The hidden Kamadhatu zone consists of 160 relief depicting the story of law, namely Silk Karmawibhangga causal. Here the relief panels depicting human passions, such as robbery, murder, tortureand asacrilege. Angle the bottom covered has been opened permanently so that visitors can see the hidden foundations including some relief.

Rupadhatu



Zone 2 is the Rupadhatu or the world of transition, in which man has been freed from earthly things, but it is still bound by the appearance and shape. This symbolizes the nature between levels i.e., between nature and nature. TerraceGallery contains the Rupadhatu square relief stone carving, as well as a series ofniches containing statues of Buddha. In total, there are 330 Buddha statuesinside the zone also has a lot of relief with this pure decoration. Sanskritmanuscripts described in this zone through 1300 relief, namely Gandhawyuha,Lalitawistara, Jātaka, and Awadana. The reliefs lined along the 2.5 km in this zonethere are also decorative panel 1212.

Arupadhatu


Zone 3 is the highest world or Arupadhatu, the residence of the gods. Threecircular terraces towards the Center or dome effigies depicting the Ascension tothe top of the world. Terrace-terrace here have fewer ornaments, and prefer thepurity of form. This symbolizes the natural levels up, in which men are alreadyfree from all desires and the bond form and appearance, but has not yet reachedNirvana. Buddha statues are placed inside the stupa which closed with wholes arelike in captivity. From the outside statues that still seem vague. In total, there are72 stupas like this.

The Main Stupa



The highest level that illustrates the absence of existence symbolized in the form of the stupa is the largest and highest. Stupas described plain without the holes.
